Qualifications:
The Field Service Engineer ? Automation and Controls will possess both technological and business skills. The ability to communicate with engineering as well as manufacturing clients is required and the desire to meet and work with people of different business backgrounds are essential qualifications.
This position involves frequent travel for short or long engagements along with the need to meet strict deadlines.
Excellent communications skill, both written and verbal, in English are required. Requires frequent travel up to 75% of time and may require flexibility for variable working hours.
Specific Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include troubleshooting, commissioning, start-up, testing, preventive maintenance, and repair services of PLC Systems and Automation Controllers, VFD, Motion Control, Industrial and Electrical/ Electronic equipment, industrial networks and field devices and sensors.
Writing technical and activity reports. Providing status progress reports. Competent with MS Office and computer systems.
Provide support on the phone and on-site as required and be able to determine the most economical and efficient support approach to satisfy customers and create customer loyalty. Work effectively in a fast paced self sufficient environment and be able to follow direction and instructions from project leaders and executive staff. Ability to maintain a positive and friendly attitude under stressful situations.
Responsible for standard field service documentation:
- Provides daily/weekly status reports to the project team.
- Provides a final report at the end of the visit which incorporates all work performed during the period on site.
- Transmit reports to Project Support Specialists to support customer billing.
Experience:
The Field Service Engineer must have a diverse mechatronics technology background that includes customer interaction. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar field.
