Blyth Academy - Toronto Private School

Private Schools List in Toronto

Blyth Academy is a private school with campuses throughout the GTA that provide a first-class education through a combination of small class sizes, dedicated and nurturing faculty, and a focused environment, which guided students as they achieve their maximum potential and reach their post-secondary education goals.
Small Class Sizes: The average class size at Blyth Academy is 8 students per class, yet we often run classes with as few as 4 or 5 students. This allows our teachers to focus on the needs and progress of each individual. The relationships that students build with their individual teachers become a key factor in them achieving academic success, often leading to a transformative educational experience.

Four term approach: At Blyth, academic excellence is one of our priorities. We provide a unique 4 term approach with 2 courses per term, which allow our students to fully focus on their academics. Our team of highly skilled teachers aim to deliver an experiential and engaging teaching approach. At Blyth, we focus on the student as a whole. Students are given the opportunity to become more independent, empowered and knowledgeable.

Passionate and Highly Qualified Teachers: Every year we attract some of the most creative and highly qualified teachers. Experts in their chosen field, the minimum qualification for most of our teachers is a Masters degree. Additionally, the Blyth model enables teachers to bring alive subject matter in various innovative ways. The community nature of the school further allows them to draw upon best practices and ideas for engaging students. Not surprisingly, students can progress academically at a much faster pace than usual.

Exceptional Guidance, Service and Support: Each campus has a dedicated guidance department to mentor each student throughout the year and counsel them through their university application process. With each Head of Guidance being responsible for about 50- 70 students only (unlike most schools where a Guidance Head may be responsible for 400 students), they are able to build an ongoing relationship with a student and keep the lines of communication open with their family. This makes all the difference when it comes to a personalized educational experience.

Technology and Online Reporting: Blyth Academy uses the Maplewood Online Academic Reporting System. This system allows students and parents to view marks and attendance 24 hours a day. A recent addition to many of our classrooms is the S.M.A.R.T. Board; a tool which brings about an enhancement in the way students, teachers and technology interacts.
