J. Addison School - Toronto Private School



J. Addison School is a Canadian private school situated on 3 acres of land located in the picturesque Town of Markham. We offer Montessori programs at the pre-school and elementary levels while our outstanding accredited Secondary program is registered with the Ontario Ministry of Education.

The pre-school programme is designed to give our students a “good start” in their lifetime of learning.
The children are directed towards developing strong communication and co-operation skills with a keen interest in learning and developing life skills.
In addition, the children will receive qualified sessions in various programs such as...
French, Mandarin, Computers, Dance, Gym, Music, Arts & Crafts, Outdoor Activities ......and so much more!

The secondary program has been skillfully designed by our leadership team to take ownership of each of our student’s academic careers from start to finish. We offer academic enrichment, remedial and elective activities within our daily program to all of our students in our Montessori and secondary programs. We call this The Addison Advantage TM and it includes the following elements:


•A leadership team averaging 30 years of experience
•On-going language assessment
•Reporting periods 4 times every academic year
•Direct instruction of reading comprehension and writing skills
•An integrated approach to curriculum instruction using a multi-media teaching model
•Daily teacher / student conferencing to monitor achievement
•Compulsory after school academic monitoring for student success
•Weekly guidance counselor, principal and teacher meetings to address student concerns
•All senior students receive individualized post-secondary educational planning support
•All secondary students meet with our guidance counselor to create an individual J. Addison study plan
