Robbins Hebrew Academy - Toronto Private School

Robbins Hebrew Academy (formerly United Synagogue Day School) offers a learning experience that is unmatched among Toronto Jewish day schools. We are the first Jewish day school in Ontario to be granted candidate status for national organization, Canadian Accredited Independent Schools (CAIS). CAIS schools are recognized for their excellence in education, innovative goals, stellar staff, administration and sound financial governance. Becoming an accredited member of CAIS places RHA among the best schools in the country. For more information on CAIS, visit their website: www.CAIS.ca.

It is our commitment to continuous innovation and a view of our children’s world in a global context that makes our approach to education unique. We strive to give our students a passion for life-long learning and develop in them the ability to critically evaluate their world.

RHA implements the best practices in professional development to build our capacity as a collaborative learning community. As a member of the Critical Thinking Consortium (TC2), we draw upon experts-in-residence, such as Garfield Gini-Newman to work on an ongoing basis with our staff to immerse students in richer and more meaningful curriculum units. Our teachers understand the importance of creativity, collaboration and innovation in developing our students to be successful in the 21st century. For more information on TC2, visit their website: www.tc2.ca.

RHA is a member of the Schechter Day School Network and adopts the practice of Conservative Judaism. RHA welcomes students from diverse Jewish backgrounds and strives to be inclusive of families from a wide range of observances.

There are over 600 students located in our two campuses. Our Bathurst Campus located on Bathurst south of Eglinton (at Beth Tzedec Congregation) is from junior kindergarten to grade 8. Our Bayview Campus located on Bayview north of Sheppard (at Beth Tikvah Synagogue) is from junior kindergarten to grade 8.

Areas of a RHA Education - Academic Excellence
RHA delivers an outstanding integrated General and Judaic Studies education to our students.

We work to inspire excellence in each child. We believe it is our responsibility to challenge and motivate our students in an environment that is interactive, technologically sophisticated and rich in active learning activities. In a variety of learning settings that extend beyond the classroom, a child’s interests and curiosities will work to guide a curriculum that has powerful knowledge goals and big ideas. The result is a student who graduates from RHA confident in their abilities and with a firm foundation in General and Judaic Studies.

Students will become critical thinkers, active historians, inquiring scientists and inquisitive mathematicians.
