Position Summary:
The US Tax Specialist will work on a variety of tax files and will provide technical support to team members and clients in the area of taxation.
Major Responsibilities
Prepare Canadian personal and corporate tax returns (T1, T2, T3, T5013 returns)
Assist with US returns and tax files
Work on tax planning for corporate clients
Prepare correspondence for internal use and for client engagements
Participate in the analysis of new legislation and implementing planning ideas for our clients
Compile necessary facts, analyze viable options, prepare documentation and present conclusions in a complete, accurate, organized and professional manner
Provide advice and support to team members
Qualifications/Experience:
Experience working in a public accounting firm for a minimum of 3 years
Completion of a recognized accounting designation such as a CA, CGA, CPA, CMA
Completion of In-Depth Tax Course or desire to enroll
Knowledge of Caseware and TaxPrep
Experience in US Taxation would be an asset
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel and Word)
Effective communication (verbal and written) in English
Excellent organizational skills and with a high level of attention to detail
Staff Accountant
We are also looking for a staff accountant to perform NTR, Review Engagements, Audits including corporate and personal tax return preparation. Must have a CA, CMA or CPA designation and current firm experience.
