TanenbaumCHAT is the co-educational community high school of the Greater Toronto Jewish Community. We welcome students of all Jewish affiliations and beliefs.
TanenbaumCHAT began with a small number of students in 1960. Fifty years later, our school has a student body of over 1,400 students and a teaching faculty of 185 across two campuses.
TanenbaumCHAT is known for its close student-teacher relationships and family atmosphere throughout the school. A full team of guidance counselors ensures that students receive caring and individualized attention.
Successful Peer Counseling and Peer Tutoring programs maintain our tradition of mutual student–to-student help. We offer a comprehensive range of educational services to ensure we meet students’ individual education and social needs. Through specialized ‘Learning Centres,’ we provide Special Education, Remediation and E.S.L. Both campuses are fully equipped to accommodate students with physical disabilities.
We are proud to be one school with two parallel campuses—the Wallenberg Campus (for students who live south of Steeles Avenue) and the Kimel Family Education Centre (for students living north of Steeles Avenue). Both locations have a full site-based administration, headed by a campus principal and are guided by a common and consistent ethos, educational standard and philosophy.
